The Historical Sociolinguistics Network (known as HiSoN), is organising a summer school and a conference on the interface between language and history, linguists and historians, and linguistics and historical studies. The summer school will be taking place from Aug 7-13, 2008 at the University of Bristol. The website is live and can be found here. The fee of £180/£150 will cover accommodation and teaching, and they have some bursaries for students with limited financial means. The follow-up conference will be from Thur April 2nd – Sun April 5, 2009, also at the University of Bristol. The call for papers will go out in August this year.
