The department is looking increasinly lonely this week…  Adding to the talks being given by Matras (Berkeley), Faller (Paris), Bermúdez-Otero (Surrey), and Payne (Edinburgh, Surrey—on the same day!), Manchet has learned that colleague Maciej Baranowski will travel to Houston to give a talk entitled “The development of nasal systems for /ae/ and /aw/ in Charleston, South Carolina” at NWAV-37, the annual variationist sociolinguistics megafest.  Check out the NWAV-37 program here, and the abstract of Maciej’s talk here.
