Bon voyage, Nuria!

Manchet can now report that colleague Nuria Yáñez-Bouza has set sail for Spain, to take up a five (!!!) year fellowship at the University of Vigo.  Although this happened in January, it is only now that we are no longer in the throes of winter that Manchet can manage to post this news, particularly the latter part, relayed in Nuria’s words below:

It’s a five-year senior research grant called ‘Ramón y Cajal’ funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (now called Ministry of Economy and Competitivity), Subprogramme MICINN-RYC, from Feb 2012 to Jan 2017. I’ve thus joined the LVTC research unit (Language Variation and Textual Categorisation) at the University of Vigo, as a full time researcher in the department of English, French and German Philology. I will also be associated to the English Linguistics Circle, a research network that comprises five research teams based at the Universities of Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, in Galicia, Northwestern Spain.
