Strycharczuk in Journal of Phonetics!

Enterprising postgrad phonologist Patrycja Strycharczuk has just published an article on ‘Sonorant transparency and the complexity of voicing in Polish’ in the highly prestigious Journal of Phonetics: see it here.

Manchet can report that Pat, the proud holder of an AHRC award and of the Walters Scholarship, is racking up achievements at an unprecedented rate. With intrepid coauthor Koen Sebregts, she represented the home team at the recent 20mfm (where fellow postgrad phonologists Michael Ramsammy and Danielle Turton, and staff member Ricardo Bermúdez-Otero, were also seen batting for Manchester). Pat then submitted her PhD dissertation on 21 June, months ahead of the three-year deadline. And on 27 July she again represented Manchester at LabPhon13 in Stuttgart.

Congratulations, Pat!
