Bond at Surrey

Simultaneously good and bad news for Manchester: lovable morphosyntactician and intrepid fieldworker Oliver Bond (PhD alum, 2006) has been adopted by the Surrey Morphology Group, who have offered him a “forever home” in the form of a permanent Lectureship in Linguistics.

Manchet gives Olly its warmest congratulations, though will be sad to see him leave Manchester, where he has been an inspiring presence and recently (at Salford) organized a successful LAGB conference. Manchet hopes that his new colleagues will be as much fun as us!

Though maybe that’s not possible. In which case, almost as fun.
