Kersti at ICHL and NP3

Kersti Börjars has been invited to two prestigious conferences in the latter half of 2013.

First off, she’s headlining at the 21st International Conference on Historical Linguistics in Oslo in August, the place to be for historical linguists every other year. She’ll be talking about modelling linguistic change: grammaticalization and persistence, addressing the question of which grammatical framework(s) best account for persistence in change, a phenomenon in which grammaticalized items or structures retain traces of their former lexical function.

Kersti has also been invited to the Third Vigo-Newcastle-Santiago-Leuven International Workshop on The Structure of the Noun Phrase in English: Synchronic and Diachronic Explorations (NP3), to be held at Leuven this November. (Our own Tine Breban is also on the committee!)
