The Manchester conspiracy at NP3

Manchet previously reported that Kersti Börjars had been invited to NP3 (“Third Vigo-Newcastle-Santiago-Leuven International Workshop on The Structure of the Noun Phrase in English: Synchronic and Diachronic Explorations”) in Leuven this November. Turns out she’s taking virtually the entire department along with her! The programme features:

  • Kersti’s plenary on Adjective-noun order in early Germanic
  • Tine Breban, along with Leuven’s Caroline Gentens, on Multiple shifts of numerous adjectives: The role of collocations in functional change in the English NP
  • John Payne on Adjectives and the complement-modifier distinction
  • Tine and David Denison on The development of the English determiner: A conspiracy theory

Manchet wishes them well in their explorations.
