Maj-Britt Mosegaard Hansen takes over as HoD

Manchet is pleased to announce that Maj-Britt Mosegaard Hansen will be taking over as Head of the Division of Linguistics and English Language at the beginning of September 2014.

Outgoing HoD Delia Bentley will certainly be a hard act to follow. She’s presided over LEL at a time when the division has effectively doubled in size (including several brand new staff as well as an influx of linguists from modern language departments such as Delia and Maj-Britt themselves), and has been strategic and firm in promoting the division’s interests while at the same time being kind and supportive to colleagues. Manchet wishes her all the best as she embarks on a year of well-earned research leave.

Maj-Britt, who is Professor of French Language and Linguistics, is no slouch either. She’s the author of two monographs and more papers than you can shake a stick at, and last year was elected to the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters. We can hope that LEL’s fortunes continue to wax under Maj-Britt’s leadership!
