LEL rocks

Saturday 13th saw nine current and former LEL staff members set off to Grindleford for an exploration of the Dark Peak. After wandering through ancient woodland, across windswept moors with rocky outcrops, and through the park of the Longshaw estate, the group repaired to the nearest pub, conveniently located in the middle of nowhere. A couple of pints provided all the necessary preparation for the steep descent back to Grindleford station. As an added bonus, the weather remained dutifully beautiful throughout the day.

This hike, just one in a grand tradition, allowed some members of the department to reveal surprising fields of non-linguistic expertise, including rock climbing and mushroom gathering!
