
PhD student Deepthi Gopal and lecturer Wendell Kimper recently presented their work at the AMP (Annual Meeting in Phonology) conference, in Vancouver. Deepthi had a poster on Typological and structural aspects of nasal-lateral assimilations, and Wendell gave a talk on Asymmetrical generalisation of harmony triggers.
Meanwhile, PhD student Fernanda Barrientos went to the Modelling Variability in Speech workshop in Stuttgart, to present a poster on The role of the L1 phonemic inventory in L2 category creation: effects of L2-to-L1 mapping in perception of nonnative contrasts.
