Welcome to our new PhD students!

It’s that time of year when it’s out with the old and in with the new. The new, in this case, is a crop of PhD students working with members of LEL staff. Pictured are Fan Wang, Stephen Nichols, Donald Morrison and Stefano Coretta. Fan will be working on syntactic variation in interpreting, with George Walkden as secondary supervisor. Stephen, Donald and Stefano join the established phon-phon crowd: both Stephen and Donald come to us from our own MA programme, while Stefano joins us from the University of York. Not pictured is Sascha Stollhans, whose PhD will be in the area of second language acquisition, teaching and learning.

Manchet extends a warm welcome to all of you – and a warning that there is no escape from the watchful eye of the divisional blog…
