Fonteyn at Iconicity Symposium at University of Brighton

From 6 – 8 April, the University of Brighton hosted the 11th international and interdisciplinary symposium of the Iconicity Research Project. The symposium, which has been held since 1997, focusses on iconicity (i.e. resemblance mappings between form and meaning) in language and in literature. This year’s theme entered around ‘operationalising iconicity’.

The iconicity symposium did not only feature a keynote address by Mark Dingemanse some excellent talks by Bodo Winter (both of whom recently presented at the LEL Research Seminars), but also a talk by LEL’s Lauren Fonteyn on operationalising diagrammatic iconicity in categorial gradients.

Have a look at the rest of the programme here.
