It’s a busy week for Manchester linguists, with exciting invited speakers.

The Tuesday seminar will be given by Ulrike Demske (University of Potsdam) at 12 noon (note the change of time!) in SG.12. The title of the talk is ‘Syntax and Discourse Structure: V-Final Main Clauses in German’.

Later that day, we will have a talk by Daniel Everett (Bentley University), hosted by CIDRAL. This talk will take place at 5pm in the Samuel Alexander Lecture Theatre. See below for title and abstract.

Daniel Everett will also give a seminar on Wednesday 1-3pm titled ‘A Survey of the Semiotic Progression Towards Language in the Archaeological and Physiological Records’ in Samuel Alexander A201.
