Morrison in Phonology

PhD student, Donald Morrison, has just had an article published in Phonology. In the phonological world, this is an achievement akin to walking all across Antarctica to the South Pole – it’s not impossible, but it’s an arduous journey, and only the chosen few can make it through. In fact, Donald is the first Mancunian to have ever reached the South Pole. Some others have tried, rumour has it, but the furthest anyone got was the Casey Station.

The paper is titled ‘Metrical structure in Scottish Gaelic: tonal accent, glottalisation and overlength’. You can read it here.

The featured photo is of Donald’s dog. A Phonology paper, a dog… It’s fair to say, Donald has it all.
