Kersti’s goodbye workshop

It’s the end of an era. After 26 years at Manchester, Kersti Börjars is off to a new adventure, as she becomes the Master of St. Catherine’s college Oxford.

She took up the new job in January, and if you want to know what it’s like, you can read about it in the following interview published by Leiden University, Kersti’s alma mater.

LEL feted Kersti on 6th March with a workshop on historical linguistics, featuring talks by Graeme Trousdale, David Willis, and colleagues, Tine Breban and Vera Hohaus. There is also some rumour of ABBA karaoke – if anyone has videos / photos/ recordings, please share.

LEL will not be the same place without Kersti, and if this weren’t bad enough, we’re now minus one dog. This beauty, appropriately named Catherine, is off to Oxford with Kersti, where she will be St Catherine’s College Dog.
