Mancunians at TripleA 7 Workshop

The TripleA 7 Workshop is taking place this week online. The TripleA workshop series is a venue focused on semantics, fieldwork, and languages from Africa, Asia, Australia and Oceania. This could not scream “Manchester” louder if it was an indie band from the 80s singing dark lyrics to bright sound of guitars in an abandoned warehouse. Unsurprisingly, the Manchester semanticists made a strong showing with an invited talk by Margit Bowler on “Conjoined Comparatives and Crisp Judgments”, another talk by Margit (joint with John Gluckman, U Kansas) on “Epistemic Marking on Nouns in Nyala East” and a talk by Vera Hohaus on “Flavors of Samoan Modality: The Split between Epistemic and Root”.
