LEL student on University Challenge

Congratulations to Patrick Jones-O’Brien, second year student in Linguistics and Anthropology for making the Manchester University Challenge this year. The team has made it through the first round with an impressive score of 200, in the face of formidable opposition from the University of Edinburgh team.

LEL has had a number of student appear on University Challenge over the years, including Richard Gilbert, who raised the bar impossibly by leading the Manchester team to take the trophy. That was in 2012 though, and you must admit there would be something mathematically pleasing in scooping another one in 2021. No pressure, Patrick!
