Yesterday saw CIDRAL‘s second book launch of the semester at Christie’s Bistro, and LEL was ably represented with two books, both on Romance languages.
First up was Maj-Britt Mosegaard Hansen’s The Structure of Modern Standard French, a new student grammar of the language. Julio Villa-Garcia introduced this one before taking a back seat as his own book The syntax of multiple-que sentences in Spanish was introduced by Delia Bentley.
Congratulations to both! Manchet hopes that these volumes enjoy a much wider readership than the pointless tomes which now serve an ornamental purpose lining the walls of Christie’s.
